Students in Advanced Photoshop are reviewing the Photoshop tools by creating their own custom trading cards that depict subjects that are important to their self identity. In addition, students are creating two trading cards by researching and writing a synopsis of famous artists of their choice. Next, we will print the trading cards, and share them with the class!


To wrap up our homecoming spirit week, our students and staff celebrated with some friendly competition at our pep rally! The energy and the Spartan Pride were at an all time high, and our students are ready to continue the celebration during this weekend's homecoming events. Go Spartans!










Students in Ceramics I are learning the basics of ceramic building, understanding clay bodies, the science of firing ceramic works, and have learned modeling and carving techniques that they have applied to a ceramic slab. Next, they will be learning about functional ceramics by creating a pinch pot vessel with their choice of creative direction and design!



On Thursday, September 11th, all students in grades 11 and 12 attended our annual College Fair at the high school. We were excited to welcome more than 40 colleges and universities to Scituate this year! Shout out to our school counseling team and Mrs. Erickson for putting this all together! And thanks to our PE department for setting up the tables!




Our student-led pep band sounded amazing on Saturday and kept the crowd going at our season opener football game against North Smithfield! Great job, Spartans!

Students in Mr.Ballou’s entrepreneurship class have been learning risk management and math based opportunity assessment by learning and then playing in a classroom Texas No Limit Poker tournament (for bragging rights only)!


Our incredible Spartan Cheerleaders did a great job keeping the energy up during Friday's game!


Students in Principles of Biomedical Science were introduced to the topic of crime scene sketching! They learned how to draw to scale, create legends, and label evidence during the week. They created and sketched their own crime scenes and then met Anna Garcia, whose death they will investigate throughout the quarter!

Meet Dr. Jessica Simonelli, she will be joining the Spartan team this year as the Speech-Language Pathologist for Scituate Middle and High School. She is committed to helping students grow in their self-advocacy and communication skills and fostering an environment of inclusivity and acceptance for all!
We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Quintin Nard, our new SHS Culinary Arts Teacher! He is a proud graduate of Johnson & Wales University with over a decade of experience in the culinary industry, Mr. Nard brings a wealth of real-world expertise and a passion for education.
We are also very happy to have Mr. Robert Anastasi who will be our new Head of School Counseling! Prior to his role as a school counselor, he taught both Art and Library Media at the secondary level, and is also a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). Mr. Anastasi is excited to work with students and families to increase knowledge of college and career-related opportunities.

SHS Senior, Nettie Hartley, joined the Rhode Island Association of School Principals - RIASP Summer Conference yesterday to be part of their student panel. Nettie did a fantastic job representing Scituate High School and answering questions from Principals across the state. Principal Hassell also joined in on all of the summer conference fun to help host the panel!

On the last day of the HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference, the Grand Awards Ceremony took place. Congratulations to Valentina Mancini for placing in the top 10 of the Clinical Specialty event!
The SHS HOSA members also enjoyed some down time and were able to explore Nashville!



On day three of the HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference, the last of our competitors took part in the Public Service Announcement, Health Career Display, and Mental Health Promotion events. Students also took part in workshops. The day ended with the Recognition Session, where Mr. Wentworth was awarded the Outstanding Local Advisor award!






Students were busy on day two of the HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference! Students competed in events, were recognized for accomplishments, and took part in workshops. Congratulations to Hailey DeMerchant and Lauren Henault, who received gold level recognition for their work in the Health Literacy Ambassador event. Valentina Mancini was recognized in the HOSA Happenings event as well. Other members competed in Community Awareness, Research Poster, Health Education, and Clinical Specialty events.






Congratulations to Ella Werbecki, who earned a HOSA scholarship! Ella was a recipient of the Citizens Bank scholarship.
