Students in Mrs. Stormont's AP Literature class practiced writing thesis statements and supplying evidence for essay topics based on Frankenstein. They assembled their written responses into a to-scale creature!

Unified Basketball took on the RI School for the Deaf this week. Cole Munns, Jacob Flanagan, and Antonio Diraimo scored 3 pointers! Go Spartans!

The RI Track Coaches Association hosted an end of season banquet for the Indoor Track and Field season on Tuesday, March 4th at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. This event was a combined boys and girls banquet, celebrating all the amazing talent in our state. We had 4 Boys from Scituate that were recognized Michael Correia- Coaches Award John Patrie- All Academic Award Calvin Hillis-Piecyk- All Academic Award Joseph D'Amico- All Academic Award Coaches Award: Coaches Award" is typically given to an athlete who demonstrates exceptional qualities beyond just their performance on the track, including strong work ethic, positive attitude, leadership, commitment to the team, and sportsmanship, as recognized by their coach; essentially an award for character and dedication rather than just statistics. All Academic Information: Criteria for All Academic is to be a junior or senior with a minimum weighted GPA of 3.8. "All Academic" award signifies recognition given to athletes who not only perform well on the track but also maintain a high level of academic achievement.

Chloe Ross Makes Scituate Wrestling History! Freshman Chloe Ross finishes as the New England runner-up at 126 lbs, making her one of Rhode Island’s highest-placing female wrestlers ever! She dominated her way to the finals with three big wins, including a tech fall in the semifinals. With three more years ahead, Chloe is just getting started. Congratulations, Chloe! High School Unified Basketball played a great first game last week against Ponaganset!

We are looking forward to seeing students perform at the Pops Concert at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19th, at Scituate High School! Students have been working hard to put together an amazing performance, and we want to welcome the Scituate community to send our student musicians positive messages to show support! Congratulations Senior Jaiden Divona for receiving an Anchor Award in the RI art competition! Her work is on display at the Alex and Ani Art Center at RIC. Gallery hours to view the state's exhibit are March 1st-16th from 11:00 am-5:00 pm.

On Friday, March 7th, Biomedical Pathway students attended the Rhode Island HOSA-Future Health Professionals - FHP State Leadership Conference! After preparing all year for this day, students gave speeches and performed skills for judges and were also able to network with other students from around the state. All of the SHS students who competed in Clinical Specialty will receive a scholarship from SimRated! Congratulations to all!

Mrs. LaSalle’s & Mrs. Dailey’s Geometry classes worked in teams to create classroom anchor charts illustrating the different methods for proving triangle congruence! These charts will be used as a resource throughout their study of congruent triangles.

The Scituate Spartan Boys Wrestling Team had a phenomenal performance at the 2025 RIIL Varsity State Championship, securing an 8th place finish out of 34 teams! With four state medalists and multiple wrestlers battling deep into the tournament, the Spartans showcased their determination and talent on the biggest stage! State Placers: 106 - Scott Cole (State Finalist, 2nd Place) 215 - Jackson Bowden (3rd Place) 120 - Robert Newton (6th Place) 165 - Rocco Simone (6th Place) Every Spartan wrestler left it all on the mat, and their hard work paid off with an impressive top-10 team finish!

SPARTAN CHEER TAKES FIRST PLACE! A huge congratulations to the Scituate Spartan Cheerleaders for taking 1st place at their competition in North Smithfield! Their hard work, dedication, and team spirit shined on the mat, and they delivered an amazing performance to claim the top spot! Way to represent Spartan Pride—keep bringing the energy and success!

The Boys Indoor Track Team joined North Scituate for High Five Friday this past month. Elementary students were eager to start their day with high fives and smiling faces. Thank you to SRO Sgt. Parenti for facilitating!

Congratulations to SHS band members Jordan Mailhot (trombone) and JT Twiggs (alto saxophone) who have been chosen to represent SHS in the Rhode Island Music Educators Senior All State Band! Another big congratulations goes out to Calvin Hillis-Piecyk, Caitlyn Jeranka, Brynn Linde, and Antonio DiRamio, who tried out and have been selected as singers to perform on stage at the VETS as well! The All-State Bands, Orchestras, and Choruses, featuring students from grades 7-12, will perform at The VETS on Sunday, March 9, 2025. The Junior and Senior Bands/Orchestras begin the day at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Junior and Senior Choruses at 3:30 p.m

Today, students were given the opportunity to explore what a career as an entrepreneur can look like. We had a panel of guest speakers who shared valuable insights about having a business and working with clients. The library was filled with students eager to learn and ask their thoughtful questions. Thank you to our panelists for generously volunteering their time to share their experiences and expertise!

Mrs. Dailey’s AP Calculus class began their study of optimization by using functions to model the volume of a box created from a fixed amount of material, and then analytically determining the dimensions that would produce the greatest volume.

A HUGE congratulations to Senior Ava Pilderian and Sophmore Valentina Mancini on their 5th and 6th place finish in shot put at the Indoor Track & Field State Championship! Also, a huge shoutout to Booster VP Megan Dumont who made the girls personalized shirts to rep the spartans!

FRESHMAN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS Our Scituate Spartan freshmen put on a strong performance at the Freshman State Championships, showing their speed, endurance, and talent! 55m: Logan Wood – 8.06 300m: Christopher D’Iorio – 40.31, Kole Yeaw – 43.74, Joseph Jacavone – 46.48, Logan Wood – 52.73 1500m: Jackson Downs – 5:31.96, Fallon Green – 5:39.67 4x200m Relay: Kole Yeaw, Jackson Downs, Joseph Jacavone, and Christopher D’Iorio placed 6th with 1:49.84! Long Jump: Christopher D’Iorio secured 3rd place with an impressive jump of 18-9! Huge congratulations to all our Spartan competitors for representing Scituate with heart and hustle!
