Students in Modern World History classes dressed in costumes for their appropriate roles for the mock trial of Martin Luther. Students enjoyed learning about the history of Martin Luther and the Reformation while actively engaging in the appropriate procedures of an American court of law!
Last week held an incredible senior night for our nine Spartan Wrestlers. They were celebrated, and they won the dual against SK!

Today was National SRO Appreciation Day and we surprised our SRO at Hope Elementary School with a special balloon bouquet to thank him for all that he does at Scituate! Thank you, Mr. Parenti!!
International foods students prepared fresh pasta, homemade sauce, and Italain bread for lunch this week. This meal was a fan favorite!
Did you know we offer Intro to Sports Medicine as part of our Fitness Instructor Pathway program? Students will explore careers in Sports Medicine and Movement Science. Scituate students learn how principles from Biomechanics and Physiology are applied by Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, and other specialists. Later in the year, students learn the application of fitness principles in 'Physical Training for active Careers' the second course in the pathway. The Fitness Instructor Endorsement can be earned simultaneously while enrolled in other pathways here at Scituate High School. Check out our student made video!

Last week the Lady Spartans made history by participating in the first All Girl High School Exhibition Dual! Each female wrestler was escorted by a younger wrestler. Congratulations to all of our Lady wrestlers!!
Scituate High School's engineering program received a generous donation this week from the North Warwick Lowes on Greenwich Ave! Some of the valuable equipment that was donated included personal protective equipment and equipment for welding education: gloves, welding wire, protective glasses, welder's pliers, welding caps, cutting oil, paintbrushes, and two fire-festooned auto-darkening helmets. Thank you, Gavin White, Travis Vernon, Justin Rambone, and Joey Almonte for helping us show our appreciation for this awesome donation!

Congratulations to our Entrepreneurship Academy students who participated in our business pitch competition yesterday! First place went to Austin Simas for his ABC Medical Certification pitch and second place went to Aidan Baker! It was clear all of our students worked hard on their business proposals, and we are so proud of them! Thank you Navigant Credit Union for sponsoring this amazing event, and providing cash prizes to our two winners! This amazing opportunity was part of Governor Dan McKee Learn365 Grant to expand high-quality, year-round learning for students.
Last week International Foods students spent time learning about Ukraine customs and cuisine by preparing Ukrainian pancakes and fried cookies! This week students traveled to Italy, a favorite cuisine. They prepared homemade pasta using Kitchen-Aid Mixer attachments. Everyone agreed it tastes so much better than box pasta!

Our Open House was full last night! Thank you to our staff, students, and our Spartan community who attended and helped answer questions and share their Scituate high school experiences. Each display table looked amazing, and it was clear that our students and staff worked hard to put their tables together. It's easy to have Spartan Pride with such a supportive school community!
When students join the Biomedical Science Academy at Scituate High School, students have the opportunity to be a part of HOSA - Future Health Professionals. An organization that empowers students to become leaders in the global health community! This year, students have been working on their own projects of interest and their goal is to be able to compete at the HOSA State Leadership Conference on March 1st!
Mrs. Dailey’s AP Calculus students applied their knowledge of finding the extreme values of a function to a manufacturing problem. Their task was to construct a box from a 5”x8” index card such that the box would have the maximum possible volume for the given amount of construction material. Students planned and discussed their approaches, and then created the boxes which were then filled with a treat to share!
