Class of 2025
Sydney Pagnozzi
Elementary School: Clayville Elementary School
Post-High School Plans: I plan to attend the University of Rhode Island to study Nursing.
Dream Job: My dream job is to become a Nurse. Although I am unsure of a specialty, I will be happy located anywhere I can help people. Being able to treat patients and improve lives every day will give me the fulfillment I wish to have in my future career.
Who was your favorite teacher or staff member during your time at SHS?: I think it would be impossible to pick between Mr. Wentworth and Mr. Brown. While these two teachers have taken on completely different roles in my life, they have been equally impactful. Academically, Mr. Soucar has pushed me to my potential during my two years with him in the biomedical pathway. I have to thank him and the HOSA club for the opportunities and experiences I have gained after meeting him Freshman year. Taking on a more personal role in my life, Mr. Brown has been my Soccer and Golf Coach for all four years of high school. He is not only a coach to me, but also a reliable support system on the field and in school. Mr. Brown always knows how to make me laugh and push me to my potential. I would not be the student or athlete I am today without Mr. Brown.
What was your favorite class you took during your time at SHS?: One of my favorite classes I have taken throughout my high school career was Principles of Biomedical Science with Mrs. Roberge. This is the first class you will take in the Biomedical Pathway at SHS. The class consists of many labs, simulations and dissections. This course reminded me how much I want to have a job in healthcare because of the fun and entertaining atmosphere.
What advice would you give to next year’s ninth-grade students?: The advice I would give to incoming freshmen is to get involved. I personally would not be the person I am today without the sports and clubs I have participated in at Scituate. Every single Spartan club and sport is so supportive and welcoming, so get involved while you can. High School goes by so fast, so enjoy every minute!
What makes SHS special?: Since Scituate is one of the smallest communities in Rhode Island, it is so easy to become involved. If you have an idea or suggestion to request, all of the staff is welcoming to any ideas. Being a student at Scituate has made me come out of my shell because of how welcoming we are! I am so glad I am a Spartan because being in this school system has shaped me into the woman I am today.
What will you miss the most about SHS? : Being an athlete! The spartan community is so fun and inclusive. I played soccer, basketball, track and golf throughout my four years in Scituate and will never forget my time on the field and court. The coaches and teammates have become my best friends and will miss them all so much!
