"SHS has given me opportunities that I would not have had elsewhere, such as my role in the implementation of a new CTE pathway."

Class of 2025

Elizabeth Schmeling

Elementary School: North Scituate Elementary School

Post-High School Plans: I plan to attend Bethany Lutheran College to study Media Arts.

Dream Job: I have two. First is a sports photographer, because I love taking pictures for the school teams and hope to be a media manager of a professional team. I also dream of being a teacher, as I love working with children and have had a natural instinct for teaching since I was little.

Who was your favorite teacher or staff member during your time at SHS?:  My favorite teacher at SHS is Mrs. Morton. She teaches Working with Children as well as Culinary Arts. She is special because of her passion, patience, kindness, and dedication to every one of her kids. She has inspired me to become not only a better teacher, but a better person.

What was your favorite class you took during your time at SHS?:  Working with Children was my favorite class at SHS, because Mrs. Morton was an incredible mentor, and the class strengthened my foundation of my understanding of children, and helped me develop skills to become a successful teacher and a better person.

What advice would you give to next year’s ninth-grade students?: Breathe; life is just beginning. You don’t have to decide your whole life right now.

What makes SHS special?: SHS’s small size provides a close knit, and nurturing environment, while also giving you the space you need to grow, and create your own life. SHS has given me opportunities that I would not have had elsewhere, such as my role in the implementation of a new CTE pathway.

What will you miss the most about SHS?: The people. Every student, teacher, and staff member are kind, caring, respectful people that are always willing to listen, talk, and help with anything you want or need.
