"The best advice I can give to incoming freshmen is to try it all. SHS is an incredible place for learning and growing because it offers unlimited opportunities to anyone who dares. Try the sport, join the club, and take that challenging class! It will all pay off in the long run."

Who was your favorite teacher or staff member during your time at SHS?: My favorite teacher is Mr. Ballou who created and teaches the Entrepreneurship Pathway classes. I took his Entrepreneurship class my freshmen year, Economics my sophomore year and Psychology and Sociology my junior year. He is also one of the DECA advisors, and he has always gone above and beyond.
What was your favorite class you took during your time at SHS?: My favorite class at SHS was Economics. Between the Virtual Stock Exchange game and the Micro and Macro topics, there was never a dull moment. My favorite part was how much I learned as well as keeping up with most relevant headlines and world news.
What advice would you give to next year’s ninth-grade students?: The best advice I can give to incoming freshmen is to try it all. SHS is an incredible place for learning and growing because it offers unlimited opportunities to anyone who dares. Try the sport, join the club, and take that challenging class! It will all pay off in the long run.
What makes SHS special?: What makes SHS special is the community environment and the available opportunities. Even though we are one of the smallest, we are able to compete with the largest schools in sports and academics.
What will you miss the most about SHS?: What I will miss most about Scituate High School is the spirit weeks, packed student sections, and Spartan Olympics. Everyone participates in the spirit week events which creates an incredible atmosphere that even translates to the donation drives and fundraisers, as everyone finds a way to contribute.
