Scituate High School

The first day of the HOSA-Future Health Professionals conference was a success for Scituate members! Students took part in pin trading, explored the expo, took part in competitive events, and attended the opening session. Our own Aviah Fraere was the flag bearer for Rhode Island!

Congratulations to Jordan Mailhot for earning the Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award! During his time at Scituate, Jordan has been an exemplary student, a skilled and dedicated musician, and has always been thoughtful, kind, and supportive of his classmates. We are thrilled to see what he will accomplish in his future.

Congratulations to Liliana Maggiacomo for being selected as a Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner. During her time at Scituate, Lily always showed up to class with a positive and uplifting attitude. She helped her fellow classmates and was a model student. What sets her apart is her reliability and sense of accountability. Lily can be trusted to follow through on expectations without needing to be reminded, and she takes initiative when opportunities arise. Her consistent behavior and positive influence on others make her highly deserving of this recognition. We know she will achieve great things!

Congratulations to Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner Burgandy Johnson! During her time at Scituate, Burgundy displayed amazing school spirit throughout her senior year. She participated in every event and really went all out for the dress-up days. She had a unique take on some of the themes, too! Her outfit for Country / Country Club Day was creative perfection. She could have walked off the set of Little House on the Prairie! She’s also an accomplished crocheter, often wearing her own cozy creations.

Burgandy has been described by her teachers as thoughtful, compassionate, kind, responsible, organized, and creative! She is truly a role model for all students and is incredibly deserving of this honor. We are excited to see what she will achieve in her future!

Congratulations to Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner, Grace Jacavone! Grace Jacavone has been a standout student who truly embodies Spartan Pride in every way. As a phenomenal three-sport athlete, she brings dedication, skill, and leadership to the court, field, and track, consistently pushing herself and inspiring her teammates to perform at their best. Beyond her athletic excellence, Grace has been an outstanding student who maintained strong academics while balancing a demanding sports schedule.

What sets Grace apart most is her unwavering respectfulness and positive attitude. She is always the first to offer encouragement to others, demonstrates sportsmanship in every competition, and treats classmates, teachers, and opponents with kindness and integrity. Grace is the kind of student-athlete who has made our school better simply by being part of it. We can't wait to see what she will achieve in her future!

Congratulations to Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner Cameron Healey! Cameron is described by his teachers as being polite, respectful, and a hard worker. He is supportive of his peers and has been a dedicated athlete at Scituate High School. We know great things are coming his way, and can't wait to see what he will achieve!

Congratulations to Annette Hartley for being selected as a Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner. Nettie has always been incredibly involved in the Scituate School community. She is an ambassador for the school, a voice for her peers, and a true key asset to the entire Scituate community. She is described by her teachers as humble, outgoing, thoughtful, and kind. When challenged, she does her best rather than shy away, and she does it with a smile. She actively and proudly works to improve herself and those around her through her academic and extracurricular efforts. We are excited to see the things Nettie will accomplish in her future!

Congratulations to Caden Gurjin, who was selected for our Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award! During his time at Scituate, Caden demonstrated a strong work ethic and reliable nature. He is a dedicated learner who approaches every task with determination and a positive, inspiring attitude. We are looking forward to seeing Caden succeed in his future!

Congratulations, Bishop Green, for being recognized as a Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner! During his time at Scituate, Bishop displayed academic diligence, school spirit, and was extremely helpful to those in need on our trip to Spain. He is a very caring individual and a true Spartan! We know he has a bright future ahead!

Congratulations to Amy Glass for being selected as a member of the Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award! During her time at Scituate, Amy has excelled in Art Class, earned the pathway endorsement, holds a job, and is also a talented Hockey and Lacrosse Player. She has spent so much time in art and is always so positive and hardworking. She is a great example of what a Spartan should be! Her ability to juggle everything and maintain a positive attitude is impressive. She is also reliable, very self-aware, and shows off her SPARTAN PRIDE spirit! We are excited to see what Amy will achieve in the future.

Congratulations to Joshua Garceau for being selected as a Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner! Josh was nominated for this award because of his positive outlook and demeanor. He enjoys working to improve himself, but also sees the bigger picture in collaborative work. He is always ready to mentor and help others. We know Josh will do great things in his future!

Congratulations, Aviah Fraere, for being selected as a Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award winner! Aviah is a student who has helped shape HOSA and the Biomedical Program here at Scituate. From her freshman year until graduation, she has shown growth and the ability to lead others, as is seen with her position on the RI HOSA Executive Council. Younger students look up to Aviah and her accomplishments as a part of the pathway. We look forward to seeing her achieve her dreams!

Congratulations, Drake Dumont, for being selected as a Spartan Pride award winner for the Class of 2026! Drake consistently has gone out of his way to greet every student, making others feel seen and valued. Despite injuries that impacted multiple sports seasons, he remained committed, always showing up to support his teammates. In the classroom, Drake demonstrates a strong work ethic that carries over into every aspect of his life. His positive attitude has the power to brighten anyone’s day. Drake’s dedication to both academics and athletics at Scituate High School truly exemplifies what it means to have Spartan pride.

Congratulations to Addison Carlson, who was honored as a member of this year's Class of 2026 Spartan Pride award! Addie has shown tremendous growth personally and academically in these past four years. From a quiet and reserved freshman to a confident, funny, and kind senior who advocates for herself and strives to succeed, she has impressed her teachers over the last 4 years. She is always respectful and kind and has a contagious smile and laugh that brightens the day of those around her. We can't wait to see the things she will achieve!

Each year, the Spartan Pride Award recognizes a special group of graduates who have gone above and beyond during their time at Scituate High School. These students have made a lasting impact in a variety of ways, including bringing positivity to our halls each day, demonstrating resilience through academic challenges, and actively contributing to our school community.

Once a Spartan, always a Spartan!

The Class of 2026 had one final walk through the halls at each one of our Scituate school buildings yesterday. This was an incredibly meaningful moment for our school community. Students were able to reconnect with their elementary and middle school teachers and staff, and our elementary and middle school students had the chance to celebrate with them. We are beyond excited to see what's in store for our graduating class. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

The Class of 2026 enjoyed their Senior Breakfast yesterday morning at Foster Country Club! Students spent the morning signing and looking through their yearbook while relaxing together one last time before graduation.

Our Clayville students enjoyed participating in our Memorial Day Celebration this week! Students thanked our local veterans for their service and watched as they respectfully changed out our American flag outside of our building. Thank you to all who have served!!

Thank you to our amazing panelists who participated in our CTE Child Education Academy Career Panel today! Students were able to hear from professionals in the industry about their educational backgrounds and career journeys.

A special thank you to Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and Rhode Island Department of Education - RIDE Student Opportunity Officer Steve Osborn for taking the time to visit SHS and have these meaningful discussions with our students.
