I want to take this opportunity once again, to thank those individuals who worked so industriously on the Scituate Reopening Plan. We received the feedback from the RI Department of Education, and both the final plan and the feedback document are posted.
Please understand that there will be more information to come over the next several weeks and the plan may need to change because of that new information. For example, the RI Department of Health's playbook for the return to school is not published yet, but when it is, we will review it, and revise our plan accordingly. The Scituate Reopening Plan should be considered as a fluid document and we ask that families prepare for all scenarios. We thank you in advance for your flexibility and support.
On August 17, 2020, the RI Department of Health will determine which scenario, out of the four that districts were required to submit, will be used to return to school on August 31.
Additionally, a Town Hall meeting will be scheduled August 6th at 6:30 PM, so please be watching for further information.
Families are an important partner in this planning and we want to support all students and families to the maximum extent possible while complying with the State of Rhode Island requirements. Therefore, if you are planning on distance learning for your child, for whatever reason, please call central office so that we can plan accordingly.
